Day 5

Still waiting. The neurosurgeon resident was in to see Josh twice since last night to assess the numbness/slurred speech. He said Josh checks out fine. We are waiting to see Josh's epileptologist, Dr. LaJoie, to get her take on yesterday and her plan going forward. Josh is starting to get "miserable," as he says, being confined to bed. We are trying to find ways to improve the quality of his stay.

  1. How about letting him do some of his own blog posts? Or he can create his own blog, just for him and his friends? (they can be set as privtae with subscribers) Or create a blog of the other teen support group members. So it's not as scary a thought for them? Just some thoughts.

  2. Yes, I've been asking him to post his own messages. I think he prefers to use Facebook, particularly as a way to communicate with this friends.

  3. Morgan set up a group for FB, but then deleted it because no one responded to her join request. (She was also bummed because Amanda is not on FB.) There were a lot of new kids at the last meeting though, so maybe they can get that going again. If Josh wants to set it up, make sure he sets it as a "secret" group, so people will need to be invited to join.
