New treatment, new hope

It's now official -- the Dec. 24 surgery has been canceled. Josh will begin intravenous gammaglobulin (IVIG) treatment Dec. 3 with Dr. Arye Rubinstein, the director of pediatric allergy and immunology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. The first treatment will be done outpatient at Dr. Rubinstein's office and subsequent treatments will be done at home with a visiting nurse.

It will take two to three months before we know if the treatment is effective in treating Josh's seizures. If it is not, we will re-schedule the surgery for the Spring. Keep Josh in your prayers and keep your fingers crossed with us.
