Yes!!!
Yes, Dr. Jeanmonod said Josh is a candidate for the surgery! He will be ready for Josh in 2013. I'll have more to report soon, including our drive through the Alps in the dark, in the rain, and getting lost until we arrived at our destination at 11:30 p.m. We are at the Hotel Silberhorn in Lautenbrunnen, if you want to Google it.

So happy to hear the news!
ReplyDeleteHi everyone,
ReplyDelete(Friday morning. )
Guten Tag.
Well, I wrote a long message last night and it didn't save. Frustrating.
I won't write the whole thing again, but just to recap yesterday:
The day was a very long one. Dr. J spent 4 hours talking with us and explaining everything. He's such a nice man, I feel very comfortable with him and I have confidence that this procedure is really going to help Josh.
Minutes after we left Dr. J's office, Jerry's are (elbow area) started to swell in an area that he had injured when he crashed on a Segway 3 days ago. It started to get really big, like a golf ball and was very painful. We ended up in the hospital, where we learned that he had a hemotoma. he's got a big blue bandage on his arm.
It was after this that we got lost in the mountains and drove up a white-knucle road in the rain and fog...only to find that we had to drive all the way down again.
Ahh...you never know what you're going to encounter in one given day.
Anyway, with all of the craziness and health issues (oh, did I mention that I have a nasty cold?) it was a very, very fine day. :-)
Lot's of love,
Xxooo

Dear Jerry, Robyn and Josh,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that your trip to the other side of the world was so successful. Apart from your minor mishaps, elbow, cold, driving aimlessly through a country you are not familiar with, you are doing great! Now enjoy the next few days. Can't wait to see you when you get home.
Lots of love. Amy, Matthew and Ethan
Is there testing that has to be done ahead of time?
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly,
DeleteWell, Josh had an EEG with 64 electrodes while we were in Switzerland, which showed Dr. J what he needed to see. When we go back, the first part of the surgery will be about a 2 hour calibration of the machinery with Josh's brain...and then the ablation of the target area in the thalamas.
Yeah!!! So happy to hear the wonderful news - can't wait to hear all about it when you get home- Enjoy the rest of your trip - with lots of love, Amy, John, Jemma, and Leah
