Josh, Robyn, and I want to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your prayers, good wishes, love, and support during our three-week stay at the hospital. This chapter is closed and we now move forward with the next one.
We are grateful that Josh came out of all this in good health after undergoing three brain surgeries in three weeks. He's an amazing kid and deserves so much more than the hand that he has been dealt.
We are grateful for the world class health care and treatment that Josh received at NYU Medical Center. We know that everything possible was done to help him and that he received the best care possible.
We are also so very grateful for the two best employers in the world, BNA and Empire State College, who allowed us to take three weeks of paid leave to be with Josh during his hospital stay.
(On a personal note, I am so grateful to have Robyn -- my love, my best friend, and my life partner -- by my side during this journey, with her grace, strength, wisdom and love.)
We want to thank all of you who visited us in the hospital, particularly those who traveled down from upstate, those who came more than once, and all the uncles, aunts, and cousins. It was particularly nice for Josh to have visits from his cousins. Thanks to Grandma Sandy who traveled all the way from Florida.
Robyn and I are especially grateful to reconnect with several old friends during this visit -- Randy, Annette, Maddy, Jeff and Melissa. Make new friends, but keep the old!
Finally, thanks to all of you who commented on this blog. Your support sustained us and inspired us through our journey. I will continue to update the blog from time to time, so please check back and continue to leave your comments. We will never forget, and will always be grateful for, the blue blanket of love that you provided for us.

ReplyDeleteJerry, robyn and josh I have been following the blog, just know that the epilepsy foundation will always be here for all of you, I am sorry the outcome was not what you went for. I always go back to, things go a certain way for a reason, sometimes we cannot always see it.

ReplyDeleteYou do not know me,and I hope you do not feel that I am intruding at a time when most of us could never imagine how much you have endured and at a time that you want all this pain and suffering for Josh to end. I am Stephanie's mom (Lincoln's MOMMA B) from upstate NY. I just stumbled on this blog and my heart goes out to you all.
As you know, we have been going through some of what you and your family are now experiencing so I would like to add my LOVE, HUGS AND SUPPORT, to you all. I thought as a grandma seeing this up close and personal living so near Lincoln that if it were at all possible I wanted to take Lincoln's pain, Steph and Andy's fear and little Eva's uncertainty onto myself and leave them free to live a healthy and happy live. But it just is not possible. I keep saying that our little HERO'S are going through all this for a reason, and that HE (our HIGHER POWER) has a purpose for all of this suffering, and even though we in our life time may not know why, we have to believe that HE would never allow our little guys to suffer needlessly. Please, if you will, allow me to add my prayers and love to you all and know that if any of you need ANYTHING that will ease your journey please give me a call - I WILL BE THERE! (Steph will give you my info). For now, please know you have the best the medical community can provide to take care of your boy and you have a host of family, church, and friends that can pray with the best of them and surround you all with our (my) love hugs security and support.
